More on SiliVaccine, North Korea’s anti-virus scanner

Several years ago I obtained a copy of SiliVaccine, an anti-virus scanner developed in North Korea.

Recently I’ve been working with Mark Lechtik at Check Point Software who has done a deep technical analysis of the application. There are some interesting findings and we’ll be providing more details on those in the coming weeks.

Mark and colleague Michael Kajiloti will also be presenting details of the findings on May 23 at Caro Workshop, a computer security conference in Portland, Oregon.

In the meantime, if you have any insight or information on SiliVaccine or its producer, STS Tech Service, please get in touch with me. It could help build out our understanding of how this interesting application came to be. You can contact me via Twitter DM or email martyn [at] northkoreatech.org.
