Submissions

38 North, a publication of the Stimson Center, is a trusted source of policy and technical analysis on North Korea’s internal and external affairs. It aims to facilitate an informed public policy debate about peace and security on the Korean Peninsula and provide policymakers, practitioners and other stakeholders with data and insights that may enhance understanding of one of the world’s most complex security dilemmas.

38 North seeks a range of policy-relevant perspectives on security, political and socioeconomic developments in North Korea, and the implications of those for key stakeholders. We expect submissions to be original work and respectful in tone, while scrutinizing ideas and policies informed by qualitative and quantitative data. Please try to limit submission to around 1,500 words for accessibility and include hyperlinked citations for online sources.

If you would like to submit an original piece for consideration, please closely follow our submission guidelines and send it to [email protected]. While we will review submissions in detail, we rely on authors to ensure the veracity of their statements with credible sources. The views and opinions expressed on 38 North are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the positions of the Stimson Center, the 38 North team or its supporters.

We assume any piece submitted for consideration is being offered exclusively and that no piece accepted for publication will be published elsewhere in any form.
