Kim Yo Jong Sees Off Samjyo’n Orchestra as it Heads for ROK

Musicians and singers heading to the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics left the DPRK on February 5 (NKST Monday).  The delegation is headed by Ministry of Culture Department Director Kwon Hak Byong [Kwon Hyok-pyo’ng] and Samjiyo’n Orchestra head Hyon Song Wol [Hyo’n So’ng-wol].  The DPRK players departed for Wo’nsan via the Pyongyang Central Railway Station.  They were seen off on the train platform by Personal Secretariat Deputy Director and Workers’ Party of Korea [WPK] Propagand and Agitation Deputy Director Kim Yo Jong [Kim Yo’-cho’ng], WPK Vice Chairman and Propaganda and Agitation Director Pak Kwang Ho [Pak Kwang-ho], Minister of Culture Pak Chun Nam [Pak Ch’un-nam] and other senior DPRK arts functionaries and officials.

The DPRK musicians boarded the Mangyo’ngbong-92 from the port of Wo’nsan on February 6 (NKST Tuesday) and arrived in the South during the afternoon.
