Aloysius M. O’Neill III

Aloysius M. O’Neill III was a Foreign Service Officer from 1976 to 2000. From August 1988 to June 1992, he was the chief of the external branch in US Embassy Seoul’s political section, reporting on and analyzing ROK foreign policy developments and North-South engagement. From August 1988 through the end of the Seoul Olympics in October, he was also the embassy’s “Olympic coordinator,” engaged in all aspects of the U.S. Government’s involvement in the Seoul Games.
