James Giles is a Nonresident Fellow with the 38 North program. He was most recently a Federal Executive Fellow at Stimson, on assignment from the United States Navy. James is a Surface Warfare Officer who has operated in the Arabian Gulf, the Horn of Africa, East and Southeast Asia. James has 20 years of experience coordinating with foreign militaries and government officials, executing complex military operations and leading large teams of personnel through various missions around the globe. James earned his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Arizona and holds a M.A. focused on Politics and Public Policy from the University of Pennsylvania.
