Juche socialist economic management theories are people-centered economic management theories that were built up by viewing the popular masses as the true masters of economic management. They are the most superior economic management theories that have the economy achieve rapid advances and the superiority of the popular masses-centered socialism of our style to be displayed more highly.

Our people have been able to complete in a short period of time those economic construction tasks that the others were able to carry out in scores, even hundreds, of years, and create new miracles that amazed the world despite severe trials and difficulties. This is because they have been scientifically and rationally operating the economy in line with the intrinsic demands of the socialist system, thanks to Juche socialist economic management theories.

Juche socialist economic management theories were created, developed, and enriched by the great leaders [suryo’ngnimdu’l], and thanks to the wise leadership of the respected and beloved Comrade Supreme Leader, they have been deepened and developed further in line with the environment and conditions of the time today. They are programmatic guides from which we must firmly take guidance for the construction of an economically powerful state and they serve as one of the important guarantees enabling the victorious advance of the revolutionary cause of Juche to be accelerated.

Juche socialist economic management theories are programmatic guides from which we must firmly take guidance for the construction of an economically powerful state because, first and foremost, they are economic management theories that thoroughly embody the essential characteristics of a socialist economic system where the popular masses are the masters.

The construction of an economically powerful state is a struggle for building a country with powerful economic capabilities that sufficiently guarantee more bountiful and civilized material and cultural living conditions for the popular masses and firmly ensure their position and role as masters in the economic field. As the process of building, solidifying, and advancing an economically powerful state is in short work for the popular masses themselves, the popular masses come to fulfill their roles and responsibilities as masters in the struggle to build an economically powerful state.

That, however, is impossible without the establishment of an economic management theory that guarantees the position of masters of economic management for the popular masses and has them fulfill their roles and responsibilities.

Juche socialist economic management theories, as they have in the past, also display great vitality in today’s struggle for the construction of an economically powerful state. They guarantee the party’s monolithic leadership and the state’s centralistic and unified guidance in economic management, and they ensure that all issues arising in economic activities are resolved under the collective guidance of party committees, thoroughly based on the revolutionary mass line and from a collectivist principle. Through this, they ensure that actual conditions are created whereby the popular masses can incorporate their independent demands into economic management as much as they can and can excellently perform their roles and responsibilities as masters of economic management.

Next, Juche socialist economic management theories are programmatic guides from which we must firmly take guidance for the construction of an economically powerful state because they enable the popular masses to successfully carry out the presented economic tasks by bringing out to the maximum their revolutionary enthusiasm and creative activity.

The construction of an economically powerful state can be successfully carried out only through the popular masses’ high degree of revolutionary enthusiasm and creative activity.

In a socialist society, the masses of working people are the true masters and direct performers of production and business activities.

Whether the masses of working people can fulfill their roles and responsibilities in production and business activities seriously hinges on the level of their ideological consciousness.

As their level of independent ideological consciousness becomes higher, the popular masses will display to the maximum their power and wisdom in economic development, and they can actively contribute to the construction of an economically powerful state by displaying their revolutionary enthusiasm and creative activity in economic activities while enhancing their technical levels and skills and advancing technology.

In a socialist society, the popular masses’ high degree of revolutionary enthusiasm and creative activity are based on independent ideological consciousness, and they are displayed highly through political work.

The political work indeed enables an upsurge to be continuously brought about in production and construction and the superiority of the socialist system to be displayed more highly. This political work has all the working people realize that their personal interests lie in the collective’s interests, and has them work by uniting and cooperating with one another and displaying a high degree of revolutionary enthusiasm and one another’s creativity to materialize the interests of the society and the collective.

This shows that Juche socialist economic management theories, which make [one] perform the presented economic tasks by way of giving priority to political work, serve as mighty weapons that make the working people accelerate the victorious advance of the construction of an economically powerful state by increasing their sense of responsibility and role and displaying to the utmost their revolutionary enthusiasm and creativity in their economic activities.

Next, Juche socialist economic management theories are programmatic guides from which we must firmly take guidance for the construction of an economically powerful state because they enable [one] to carry out economic management in the most scientific and rational manner and attain greater achievements in economic construction.

Successes in economic construction greatly hinge on how guidance and management are carried out toward economic construction. As the economic size grows and the level of socialization and modernization in production rises, the issue of guidance and management toward economic construction arises as a very important issue.

Specifically, the issue of guidance and management toward economic construction may be viewed as an issue of how to define and correctly utilize the system, method, and means of economic management for organizing the working people’s economic activities scientifically and rationally.

Juche socialist economic management theories illuminate the system, method, and means of economic management in the most scientific and complete manner, in line with the stage of the revolution’s development and the conditions of the time. In particular, economic management theories that the party has presented at the present time, such as the socialist enterprise responsibility management system [SERMS], clearly elucidate, scientifically, the system, method, and means of economic management in line with the environment and conditions of the time today, when the struggle for the construction of an economically powerful state has surfaced to the forefront; and their superiority is being displayed highly in practice.
