Brandon Callegari is a PhD student at the University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Political Science, with substantive interests in human rights, political economy, and refugee policy in the context of North Korea. Brandon recently spent a year working at Citizens' Alliance for North Korean Human Rights (NKHR) in Seoul as a Boren Fellow, helping NKHR to request the addressing of North Korean defector repatriations by China for the 4th cycle United Nations Universal Periodic Review session, and performing independent geospatial research on the economic and food security impacts of COVID-19 in North Korea.
